Suggestive And “Scale” Questions

Mastering Telephone and Text Communication Telephone Communication Suggestive And “Scale” Questions

A scale question, on the other hand, is a good question to gain insight into the situation. For example, a scale question is: “On a scale of 1 to 10, what do you think of your animal’s level of pain? And why?” With a scaling question you ask the client to quantify a feeling. You can then respond to this. In addition, the owner’s explanation can help you measure the accuracy of their statement. Why is the pain level an 8 and not a 10? You can see that these types of questions help you gain insight into how the client feels about the situation with their animal.
