Just as in any type of communication, there are some rules of etiquette that help ensure that the texts you send to clients have the desired impact.

  • If clients don’t respond right a way, allow some time before re-texting
  • Always respond promptly to client texts
  • Be respectful of the client’s schedule
  • Keep texts brief
  • Don’t call in response to a text unless they ask you to
  • Double-check autocorrect!
  • Triple-check that you’re sending it to the right person!
  • Respond proportionately
  • Don’t SHOUT in all caps!
