Hello,

Dr. Google

Managing Challenging Communications Tricky Clinical Encounters Dr. Google
Dr Google

Dr. Google. This client thinks they know everything. Because they did a bit of Googling at home, this client thinks that they know everything you do after a few mouse clicks. Frustrating, right?

Although it might not feel like it, however, this client is actually demonstrating how much they love their pet.  They are worried about something and they have taken the time to do some research – these are great clients! We all head straight to the internet for answers to our questions, why would pet owners be any different?

If you ignore or belittle their research, or their underlying worries, your client will leave the consultation with questions remaining. They may even doubt the advice that you gave, which could mean that they don’t follow your reccomendations. By taking the time to acknowledge that they have done some research and address their specific concerns, you can move forward collaboratively.
